Mental Health Support Group
Meeting Dates Listed Below
St. Ed's Behavioral Mental Health Ministry is sponsoring a monthly support group for family and friends who are helping loved ones navigate through mental health challenges. The support group facilitator is Kevin Moran, a psychiatric social worker with over 25 years of experience in mental health care. The support group will be held on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the social hall. Please mark your calendars for the following 2026 dates: 6/11, 9/10, 10/8 & 12/10 (no support group in July or August). All information shared by participants at the support group is confidential.
Altar Server Training
Saturday, June 14th, Immediately Following The 11 AM Mass
Altar Server Training will be held in the church on Sunday, June 14th after the 11 AM Mass. This training is open to children who have received their First Communion and older. We welcome both new altar servers and current servers who would like a refresher. Please join us as we l learn more about serving at Mass and assisting our parish community. Please contact Fr. Knights of Columbus BBQ
Thursday, June 18th, 4-6:30 PM
St. Edwards Fr. Scott Council of the Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a BBQ to raise funds for charities supported by our organization. Please join us with Miller’s Back Yard BBQ and enjoy a freshly prepared barbequed chicken or smoked beef brisket dinner including a baked potato, cornbread and cole slaw.
Orders will need to be placed in advance or purchased after each Mass. All orders are to be picked up on Thursday June 18th at St. Edwards Church between 4:00pm and 6:30pm. Prices are $15 for chicken and $20 for beef brisket.
Knights & Hoffman Car Wash Fundraiser
Fundraiser Ends June 30th
St. Edwards Knights of Columbus Council 11064 is conducting a charitable fundraising campaign in conjunction with the Hoffman Car Wash organization's Helping Hands program.
The Council will receive 50% of the purchases made through this program, which will end on June 30, 2026. This is a great way to contribute to the charities supported by the Knights and get your vehicle cleaned in the process.

St. Edward’s is looking for volunteers to help run sound for our liturgies, including weekend and weekday Masses, special events, Evening Prayer, holidays, and more.
If you have a good ear and an interest in learning how to operate the sound board, we’d love to have you join us! Stop by and talk to Mary Jo, Andrew, or Mark. We’ll take your information and arrange a training session.

Eagle Scout John T. will be holding a bake sale to help support his Eagle Scout project. He is fundraising to build 3 obstacles (a jumping hoop, an adjustable jumping hurdle, and a tunnel with a bridge) at the Mary Jane Row Dog Park in Clifton Park. Today we celebrate Earth Day, a beautiful reminder that our world is not just a place we live, but a gift we are called to cherish.
As Catholics, we believe creation is a reflection of God’s love and goodness. From the vast skies to the smallest living things, everything has been entrusted to our care. In Laudato Si', Pope Francis reminds us that we are stewards, not owners, of the Earth, and that caring for our common home is a vital part of our faith.
Today, may we pause to give thanks for the beauty of creation, reflect on how we can better protect it, and commit to small, meaningful actions that honor God’s handiwork.

Please join us as we partner once again with Sleep in Heavenly Peace on Saturday, May 16th. This year, we will meet up with St. Mary’s and offer 2 time slots for the build. The first slot will be 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The second slot begins at 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This year’s event will take place at St. Mary’s Church, Crescent.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is an organization that builds beds for children who are sleeping on the floor. The local chapter supports children from Albany to Saratoga and Schenectady to Greenwich.
If you wish to volunteer for building beds, sign-up sheets and registration instructions can be found in the atrium. Registration is required!
Donations of NEW twin-size bedding (pillows, comforters, blankets, sheets or bed-in-a-bag) can be placed on the designated tables in the atrium. Monetary donations are also welcome and can be brought to the parish office. Thank you for your support with this wonderful initiative.

If you joined us for the Youth Ministry’s Living Stations of the Cross, you know how truly moving it was. Watching our young people bring such depth, reverence, and meaning to each station was nothing short of powerful.
Their dedication and heartfelt portrayal reminded us all of the true significance of this sacred journey. We are so proud of them and grateful for the way they helped us reflect more deeply this season.
Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and prayed with us, it was a beautiful experience we won’t soon forget.
St. Edward the Confessor is seeking a friendly, organized Parish Secretary to assist in the daily operations of the parish office. This part-time position is 18 hours per week. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting parishioners and visitors, answering phones and emails, maintaining parish and sacramental records, scheduling Mass intentions and facility use, preparing correspondence, and providing general administrative support to the pastor and staff.
Qualified candidates will have prior office experience, good computer skills preferably with Google Workspace, strong written and verbal communication, discretion with confidential information, and a warm, welcoming manner. A practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred and support for the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church is essential.
Hourly rate: $18 to $22 per hour depending on experience.

Over the past three weeks, St. Edward’s has been blessed by your incredible generosity in supporting our clothing collection for veterans through the Albany VA Medical Center. We are truly overwhelmed with gratitude for the abundant outpouring of support from our parish community.
Your donations came in steadily, each item a tangible sign of care, respect, and gratitude for those who have served our country. Because of you, countless veterans will be reminded that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

On March 12th, a large group of volunteers gathered to help fill donated purses with useful items. These were then distributed to homeless and abused women. THANK YOU for coming together and making this a huge success!! Together, we make a difference!!

Middle School & High School Youth are invited to join us on Wednesday, March 25th, from 6 - 8 pm in the social hall, for a special presentation on the Our Father (Lord's Prayer) by Professor Carl Nicpon from the University of Georgia. All youth in grades 6 - 12 are encouraged to attend. Any youth needing to make up an absence this year can do so by attending the presentation. Please come even if you do not need credit. This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the prayer that the Lord Jesus taught us and for fellowship.
