The knights of Columbus Present: A Novice Pilgrim in Spain

Walking the Camino de Santiago is both a cultural immersion and a sacred journey. Join John Mahar as he shares his experience as a first-time pilgrim on Spain’s most traveled route, the Camino Francés.

Throughout the evening, John will reflect on the physical demands of the trail, the unexpected spiritual moments, the striking beauty of the Spanish countryside, and the determination required to reach Santiago de Compostela.

John Mahar is a retired civil servant and current Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 11064. In addition to their volunteer work, John and his wife love walking, hiking, and camping, and have seen most of the 50 states. He just completed his first Camino in June 2026.

Coats For The Community

As the colder months approach, we invite our parish community to help keep our neighbors warm! We are collecting new or gently used coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, boots, hats, gloves, and snow pants. All sizes are welcome and greatly appreciated.

Donated items will be distributed locally to those in need in Cohoes, Green Island, Waterford, and Watervliet through the Albany Association of the Ladies of Charity.

Donations may be placed in the Atrium through October 11th.

Knights Of Columbus Car Wash

The K of C are partnering with Hoffman Car Wash to raise funds assist the various programs and charities supported by St. Edward’s Knights of Columbus Council 11064 including but not limited to Faith Formation, church ministries, Scouting, Ronald McDonald House, CAPTAIN, candidates for the Priesthood, Regional Food Bank, Our House, YMCA, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Provide, Shen Dollars for Scholars, Auriesville Shrine, Sisters of St. Joseph, etc.

To purchase tickets, please visit www.hoffmancarwash.com, on the top right, click Fundraisers, then search for Knights of Columbus, and the St. Ed’s event will appear. The fundraiser is ongoing through October 31st. 50% of every dollar will come back to the council for their charitable work. We greatly appreciate your support!

Mental Health Support Group

St. Ed's Behavioral Mental Health Ministry is sponsoring a monthly support group for family and friends who are helping loved ones navigate through mental health challenges. The support group facilitator is Kevin Moran, a psychiatric social worker with over 25 years of experience in mental health care. The support group will be held on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the social hall. Please mark your calendars for the following 2026 dates: 10/8, 11/12 & 12/10. All information shared by participants at the support group is confidential.
