Class days and times and dates
Each class will meet from 4:00 – 5:30 PM
- Third Grade – Begins on Tuesday, September 18th, 2012. Please refer to the calendar for the exact dates that we will meet.
- Fourth Grade – Begins on Wednesday, September 19th, 2012. Please refer to the calendar for the exact dates that we will meet.
- Fifth Grade – Begins on Thursday, September 20th, 2012. Please refer to the calendar for the exact dates that we will meet.
Drop off Policy
Please park in the parking lot in front of the faith formation area, not in the circle. Parents, and or guardians must bring their child into the classroom. For safety reasons we request that the parent/guardian remain with the children until the catechist arrives. Children in the elementary grades must not be dropped off at the door.
Attendance
Please contact me either by e-mail, or phone if your child will not be attending class in the afternoon.

THIRD GRADE
Third Grade meets on Tuesdays from 4:00 – 5:30PM
B Weeks
JESUS and the CHURCH
Our third graders will learn about Jesus’ life, His disciples, and the Church.
We begin each session with Chapel Time. During this time we will pray, sing, and discuss many different topics throughout the year. Catechists are encouraged to make a presentation with their class.
We will review all of the prayers learned so far, and introduce the Apostles’ Creed.
FOURTH GRADE
Fourth Grade meets on Wednesdays from 4:00 – 5:30PM
B Weeks
THE 10 COMMANDMENTS
Our fourth graders will begin to learn about the Beatitudes and 10 Commandments.
We begin each session with Chapel Time. During this time we will pray, sing, and discuss many different topics throughout the year. Catechists are encouraged to make a presentation with their class.
We will end our year with a family Festival of the Saints.
FIFTH GRADE
Fifth Grade meets on Thursdays from 4:00 – 5:30 PM
B Weeks
“WE SAY YES” SACRAMENTS
Fifth graders begin each class with a group prayer service. Each class is encouraged to create and present their own prayer service later in the year.
The students will be learning about the Sacraments through a DVD based program. Each class will work as a group on a presentation, “We Say Yes”.
The fifth graders will end the year with a family festival based on people in either the Old, or New Testament.
St. Edward’s Inclement Weather and Closing Policy
Monday – Friday:
- If Shenendehowa Schools (Shen) CLOSED: ALL activities** are cancelled that day and evening.
- If Shen DELAYS: ALL activities** are cancelled until 3PM.
- If Shen CANCELS ITS AFTERNOON activities: ALL activities** are cancelled that afternoon and evening.
- If Shen DOES NOT CANCEL ALL OF ITS ACTIVITIES but the weather deteriorates:
please check the closings on radio, TV, or click on the TV/Radio Stations below to link to closings. **All activities includes weekday Mass, Faith Formation classes (church and home), and building events.
Saturday – Sunday:
- If an activity at the church falls on a weekend and there is poor weather, please check the radio, TV, or the links below for closings.
