Saturday, October 4th, 10:00 AM

Join us on Saturday, October 4th, at 10:00 AM by the bell tower for Blessing of the Animals! Bring your furbaby or stuffed animal for a special blessing! All animals need to be leashed or caged for this event.

8th Annual Bocce Tournament

Sunday, October 5th, 1:00 PM

St. Edward’s 8th Annual Bocce Tournament will be held on Sunday, October 5 at 1:00 pm at the Bocce courts. Those interested in joining the fun should start rounding up teams of 4 adults (15 yrs. and up). Sign-ups will be in the atrium starting Saturday, Sept. 13.  So get a move on! Spectators are welcome. Bring your folding chairs and enjoy the fun!

Travel-Sized Gifts For The Elderly

Collecting 10/4 - 11/14

Our first graders will be packing Personal Care bags for the elderly. These will be distributed through agencies around the area for Christmas.

We will be collecting new, unopened travel-sized personal care items from October 4th through November 14th.

We are in need of:

  • Soap
  • Shampoo/Conditioner
  • Lotion
  • Deodorant
  • Toothpaste & Mouthwash
  • Kleenex
  • Chapstick

There will be bins in the atrium for these items. Please place the items in the appropriate bins. Thank you for your continued support!

Diocesan Unleashing Love Women's Conference

Saturday, October 18th, 8 AM - 4 PM

The Unleashing Love Women’s Conference empowers women to open their hearts to God’s love. The day includes Mass, Reconciliation, Rosary/Adoration, small group connections, and keynote speakers Sr. Susan Zemgulis, OP, and Danielle Bean.

Saturday, 10/18, 8 am - 4 pm, St. Edward the Confessor Church, Clifton Park.


Early registration: $40 pp until October 6th, regular registration: $45 pp October 6th -17th, day of registration $50 pp. College-age & younger women are FREE, but need to register.

Priesthood Sunday is an opportunity to reflect on the gift of the priesthood, to thank our priests for their faithful ministry, and to pray for them as they continue to guide us in faith. At St. Edward’s, we are especially grateful for the leadership, compassion, and spiritual care of our priests, Fr. Dan, Fr. Jim, and Fr. Pat. Their presence at the altar, in the confessional, at our hospitals, and in our community reminds us that God continues to work through them in powerful ways. Let us take time this week to offer our personal thanks, a kind note, or, most importantly, our prayers for our priests. May God bless them abundantly in their ministry, and may He continue to raise up new vocations to serve the Church for generations to come.

Please go through your closets to locate NEW OR GENTLY USED coats and snow pants that are clean. Adult and children’s sizes are needed. The Ladies of Charity, a Catholic Women’s organization, will be distributing them in October to families residing in Cohoes, Green Island, Waterford and Watervliet. You may leave coats in the collection boxes in the Atrium until Sunday, October 5th . Thank you for your continuous help as many families are supported by your generosity with lovely coats year after year. If you have questions, please call Mary Ann Sekellick, Pastoral Care Coordinator at 518-371-7372 ext. 224.

As we celebrate Labor Day, we are reminded of the Catholic teaching that work is more than just a means of earning a living, it is a way to participate in God’s ongoing creation. St. John Paul II taught that “work is a good thing for man, a good thing for his humanity, because through work man not only transforms nature, adapting it to his own needs, but he also achieves fulfillment as a human being.” On this day, we pray for all workers and for fair wages, safe conditions, and respect for their dignity. We lift up those who are unemployed, underemployed, or burdened by unjust labor practices. And we remember that every job, no matter how humble, is a chance to serve others and give glory to God. May St. Joseph the Worker, the patron saint of laborers, guide and protect all who labor in body, mind, and spirit.

Our first Shine Your Light group of the summer was last week! Mrs. Hayden started the group with a craft, and then they taste-tested some chocolate zucchini muffins Mrs. Hayden had made. Red hand faces show they didn't like the muffins at first glance, but when they tasted them, some of the hand faces turned to green. This was used to teach that we shouldn't
